Scabies is a tiny burrowing mite (Sarcoptes scabiei), that can cause pimple-like bumps and skin rash due to intense itching on your body, especially at night. Scabies is contagious and can be passed on to others, and more so, during prolonged contact with another person.
The female mite burrows just beneath the layer of skin on your body, where it will live and lay its eggs. If not treated as soon as possible, a total body infestation of the microscopic scabies could occur, which could then rapidly spread to other members of your household, resulting in a full-blown infestation. It’s a lot harder to eradicate them, once all household members have been infected. So, it’s imperative that you take immediate action once you suspect that you- or anyone else in your household might have become infected with the scabies mite.
Usually, the scabies itch is worst at night, that’s when they come out of their burrows to breed. But of course, depending on how bad you have them, they can also cause itching throughout the day. They usually infect a person from the neck down, but again, in some cases- depending on how bad the infestation may be, they could also spread to your hair, face, etc… resulting in a full body invasion.
There are several effective treatments out there that you can get. Some, you can get by seeing your doctor, and others, that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
Usually, the most effective scabies treatment is prescribed by your doctor or dermatologist. They will usually prescribe some type of body lotion or cream, that you can apply all over your body.
One of these lotions is based on a 5% permethrin cream, which is supposed to kill the scabies mite and their eggs. Your doctor will give you instructions on how and when to apply it. You don’t use it every day, but, of course, your doctor will provide this information for you.
Besides these prescribed body lotions and creams, you could also make your own lotions and creams with essential oils like tea tree oil, which is then diluted with other oils such as pure virgin coconut oil, Jojoba oil, etc., and apply them on a daily basis all over your body- from head-to-toe, until the scabies mite is completely eradicated.
For example, you’d mix 1 ounce of pure tea tree oil, with 8 ounces of pure virgin coconut oil. Mix/shake it well, and then apply the oil solution to your whole body- from head-to-toe, on a daily basis. Just be careful not to get any into your eyes. If you do- just rinse it off from your eyes, until it feels better.
Apply the solution each night before you go to bed. This will help you sleep better, by lessening the itching, while at the same time, killing mites. Shower in the morning, and right after the shower, reapply this solution again.
If you don’t shower in the morning- make sure to reapply the solution again anyway. Then, reapply it again over your body just before bed. The idea is to always have this solution on your body, until the mites are eradicated. So, anytime you bath or shower, reapply the solution.
If you follow the above remedy along with daily tasks of vacuuming your carpet, drying on high heat your blankets, putting towels and clothes in plastic trash bags until ready to wash and dry, spraying the susceptible areas of your house like carpets, floors, mattresses, etc… with any OTC bug/insect spray, you may eradicate the scabies infestation within 12-15 days. That’s a small price to pay for all of the hell and discomfort they’ve unleashed on you.
But, perhaps the most effective remedy of all for the complete eradication of scabies, has been Ivermectin tablets. With the Ivermectin tablets, you’d take an appropriate dose based on body weight, and then repeat the dose 7 days later- and that usually does the trick.
Of course, you’d want to be performing the daily tasks as indicated above, to make sure the scabies is eradicated from your household as well, which will lessen the chances of you getting re-infected.
It’s also advisable (optional), to continue using the tea tree/coconut oil remedy on a daily basis, while you are under the Ivermectin tablet protocol, for a potent double whammy!
Ivermectin tablets come in strengths of 3mg, 6mg, and 12mg. And it is dosed by body weight per the chart below.
You take it on day one, and then repeat the initial dose on the 8th day for a better chance of complete eradication.
The down side to the Ivermectin oral tablets is that, one- they are hard to get, and two, they are expensive.
Doctors will more readily prescribe you a tube of permethrin 5% cream or other oils and lotions to spread over your body, rather than the Ivermectin tablets which are more effective. And if they do prescribe you a dose, or two, of the Ivermectin tablets, prepare to pay a hefty sum for them.
According to available information on line, the average cost for a 20 count of 3mg tablets, of the generic Ivermectin, is about $100.
A typical dose for one person weighing between 151-170 lbs, requires a total of 10 – 3mg tablets of Ivermectin to cover their first and second doses of 5 tablets each time. Of the 20 tablets you bought, that would leave you with a total of 10 tablets left, Which is good, just in case re-infestation happens a couple months down the road. It happens more often than not.
But what happens if your whole household is infected with scabies? Then, you may very well need a lot more than just 20 tablets, which could get pretty steep in the price range.
Here, is where we may help. Recently, we cured our whole family from a tenacious scabies infection with Ivermectin tablets. The VA doctor refused to prescribe Ivermectin pills for the whole family, and the 5% premethrin lotion that we had acquired, wasn’t giving us any lasting, satisfactory results.
So, I searched long and hard for Ivermectin pills and it payed off. It just so happened that a local person from my community had acquired a large batch of Ivermectin pills last year, just in case he and his family needed them to help fight off the Corona Virus… yes, he’s one of those who believes Ivermectin helps fight off the virus.
But, of course, I didn’t care. I just wanted to rid our family and household of these biting critters from hell. They were driving us mad! We were even contemplating on moving away and leaving everything behind.
I ended up buying half of what he had- only because that was the only way he’d sell them to me. It was way more than what we needed or wanted, but, I sure as heck wasn’t going to let these tablets- and this cure, get away from me! These tablets are 12mg each, were manufactured on May 2021, and expire on April 2024.
I am offering these Ivermectin tablets at the same price I bought them from him- which is wayyy better than prescription prices. I know how important they could be to someone who may be going through this nightmare- which, I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Of course, we are finally cured of our scabies, but I’m still keeping some just in case these invisible demons come back to haunt us. I don’t ever want to relive that nightmare all over again.
