Was God’s Law Nailed to the Cross – Part 1

Was God's Law Nailed To The Cross

Was God’s Law Nailed to the Cross?

Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

People who believe that Paul is actually teaching this, should ask themselves this, Does the Word of God CONTRADICT itself? Does it conflate directly opposing views and then presents the chaotic end result as truth?

NO, and NO!

It’s a shame that assumptions which can very easily be proven to be false such as these, are still being made by those under the pretense of living Spirit-led lives. It really is! Because the Holy Spirit should be leading us into all Truth, not having us embrace and settle for a massively error-ladened faith, riddled with contradictions, and based on chaotic scriptural friction.

In these verses, Paul WASN’T saying that God’s Law was against us, contrary to us, and that it was done away with and nailed to the cross. He was speaking of something else. HE COULDN’T HAVE ANYWAY!

WHY?

Because YEARS AFTER THE CROSS, this is what Paul actually says about God’s Law. Which, by the way, would have made absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL if the Law had indeed been abolished at the Cross. It’s just Common Sense 101, folks:

1 Corinthians 7:19 – The important thing is TO KEEP God’s Commandments.
Romans 2:13 – …for not the hearers of the Law are just in the sight of God, but THE DOERS OF THE LAW will be justified;
Romans 7:12 – Therefore the Law is HOLY, and the Commandment HOLY and JUST and GOOD.
Romans 7:22 – For I DELIGHT in the Law of God according to the inward man.
Romans 7:25 – …I myself serve the Law of God.

READ THESE VERSES AGAIN! Let them sink in!

So unless one is implying that Paul was confused, ignorant and unstable-minded, that’s not what he was teaching. Paul would have never contradicted himself!

Read this Prophesied WARNING and heed (2 Peter 3:15-17).

So then the confused and unstable-minded ones are those who have colossally stumbled in Paul’s writings.

So, is God’s Law against us and contrary to us, as is being suggested by the confused? Let God answer that:

Deuteronomy 11:26 – “Behold, I set before you today a BLESSING and a CURSE:
Deuteronomy 11:27 – the blessing, IF YOU OBEY the Commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today;
Deuteronomy 11:28 – and the curse, IF YOU DO NOT OBEY the Commandments of the LORD your God…

God says His Law is a BLESSING! So how in the world could it ever be against us and contrary to us?

I’ll tell you how. IT’S ONLY If you ARE NOT being led by the Spirit, that’s how:

Romans 8:6 – For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:7 – Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; FOR IT IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE LAW OF GOD, nor indeed can be.

It is only the carnal-minded ones being influenced by the Lawless One, who TRULY believe that God’s Holy Law is against them and contrary to them.

And they’re right! God’s Laws ARE contrary TO THEM.
